How often should my dog be groomed?
Most dogs benefit from grooming every 4–8 weeks, depending on their breed, coat type, lifestyle, and how quickly their coat grows.
When should my puppy have their first groom?
We recommend introducing puppies to grooming from around 12–16 weeks of age, once they have received their vaccinations and your veterinarian has advised they can safely attend appointments.
What happens during my dog’s first appointment?
We’ll begin with a consultation to discuss your dog’s coat, health, behaviour, and the style you’d like. Our groomers will then tailor the appointment to suit your dog’s individual needs, ensuring a calm and positive experience.
Do you groom nervous or anxious dogs?
Yes. We understand that every dog is different. We take a gentle, patient approach and work at your dog’s pace to help them feel safe and comfortable throughout their visit.
Will my dog be in a cage?
Dogs may spend a short period in a clean, secure holding area if required for their safety or while waiting between stages of the grooming process. We always aim to minimise waiting times and make every dog’s visit as comfortable as possible.
My dog has knots or matting. What happens?
We’ll assess your dog’s coat during the consultation and discuss the best option with you. In some cases, severe matting may need to be clipped away to prevent discomfort and protect your dog’s welfare.
Can you cut my dog’s nails?
Yes. Nail clipping is available as a stand-alone service and is also included with your grooming appointment.
What shampoos do you use?
We use Petway professional grooming products selected to suit your dog’s coat type and skin condition. If your dog has sensitive skin or allergies, please let us know before the appointment.
How long will my dog’s appointment take?
Appointment times vary depending on your dog’s size, coat condition, behaviour, and the service booked. We’ll provide an estimated collection time when you drop your dog off. The average wait time for a full groom is 3.5 hours. We do however have the option of upgrading to a express appointment, this reduces the wait time to 2 hours.
What should I do before my appointment?
Please ensure your dog has had the opportunity to go to the toilet before arriving and let us know about any medical conditions, injuries, or behavioural concerns.
What if I’m running late?
Please contact us as soon as possible, via text on 0402774572. We will do our best to accommodate you, although late arrivals may need to be rescheduled if they affect other appointments.
Do you require proof of vaccinations?
We recommend that all dogs are up to date with their vaccinations to help maintain a safe environment for every dog visiting the salon.
Can I stay while my dog is groomed?
Unfortunately not, most dogs settle better without their owners present, allowing them to relax and focus on the grooming process. We find this often results in a calmer and more enjoyable experience.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a range of convenient payment methods. Payid , Bank Transfer or Cash. Please ask our team if you have any questions before your appointment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. We appreciate as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so we can offer the booking to another client.
How do I book an appointment?
Bookings can be made through our online booking system. If you need help choosing the right service, we’re always happy to assist.
My dog doesn’t like being groomed. Can you still help?
Absolutely. Many dogs are nervous, especially if they’ve had a negative experience in the past or are visiting a groomer for the first time. We use calm, gentle handling and plenty of patience to help dogs build confidence with grooming over time.
